We went through some highlights of Doug's career and now...

Hello! I'm Troy Donahue! I was born in 1936 and my real name is Merle Johnson, hunt. Like that cheap impostor Doug, I made many movies, was a teen-age heart-throb and was on T.V. many, many times.
MONSTER ON CAMPUS

This film is where I get a good start. I prove myself as leading man material and I hunt kill a monster!
SUSAN SLADE

I made a lot of movies with Connie Stevens! this is one of them!
PALM SPRINGS WEEKEND

I'm singing, I'm dancing , I lov'in! I got it all as America's favorite teenager...
COME SPY WITHE ME

Now that I was a house-hold name, I got to cash in on crazes...Like James Bond!
A SUMMER PLACE

This has Sandra Dee in it. That's important for later on here.
PARRISH

I try to do serious stuff to break into that "A" list.
A DISTANT TRUMPET

Time for me to get DRAMATIC! This was almost like the 60's "Young Guns".
MY BLOOD RUNS COLD

Continuing to play serious parts in films about re-incarnation, I also got a drug addiction from Joey Heatherton
THOSE FANTASTIC FLYING FOOLS!

It's "Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines" meets "It's A Mad, Mad, Ma, Mad World" meets "Around The World In Eighty Days" only with a smaller budget...
THE PHANTOM GUNSLINGER

Westerns are always fun to play. I really like this drawing of myself here.
DOUG: I like the bullet hole in your head!
GODFATHER PART II

It's a stretch, but I'm in it! I even used my real name for the character! Merle Johnson! Are you in a Godfather Movie, Doug?
DOUG: NO! But I got to travel though time, with is much better than having a bit part in a sequel! I was a leading man through the 70's. Sound like you got reduced to bit parts...
SEIZURE

I was smoking pot everyday, taking cocaine and amphetamines along with pain killers and booze. That's my excuse for this one...
BORN TO KILL (A.K.A. COCK-FIGHTER)

This was a fun one with Warren Oates. He likes to drive around cutting people's head's off with an axe. He didn't touch my wonderful hair, though!
CRY BABY

I'm only in this because John Waters wanted me to "go back to his room with him". I play Hatchet's dad. But either way, it was fun to re-live those glory days when I was on the cover of all the teen magazines! I felt bad at the time as I told the star, Johnny Depp, that he should get out now and that he was never going t make it big in sho-biz. I don't know what ever became of him. I can't imagine he's made it bigger than me...
GREASE

DOUG: Hey! You are not in this!
TROY: No, but my name gets mentioned in the "Sandra Dee" song...Told you that would come in handy later!
DOUG: Now you are stretching! I knew when to quit. Did you?
LOW BLOW

I get to work with Cameron Mitchell! C'Mon! There I am in the top shatter area!
LOW BLOW (Version 2)

NOBODY is that well built in this movie. But there is a truck...
HOLLYWOOD COP

Cameron Mitchell again!
DOUG: The trick is to AVOID working with Cameron Mitchell. You did it twice.
TROY: Well, I did many bits in direct to video movies until I died in 2001 of a severe heart attack.
DOUG: Great. We're both dead. And so is Phil Hartman, the guy who voiced Troy McClure.

Well. There you have it. Who is the winner of the MOVIE POSTER FRIDAY battle? Is it Doug McClure? Is it Troy Donahue?
Who is the inspiration behind The Simpson's Troy McClure? YOU DECIDE!
